那么“乌龙”究竟何意？1998年世界杯的时候，“乌龙球”大盛，兴趣所至，我对乌龙有一考。最后吃惊地发现乌龙原来竟然是一条忠心耿耿的狗。晋陶潜《搜神记》有载：传说晋时会稽张然养狗名乌龙，有奴与张然之妻私通，欲杀张然，乌龙伤奴以救主。后人由此以乌龙为狗的代称。唐代白居易有诗：“乌龙卧不惊，青鸟飞相逐。”李商隐也有诗：“遥知小阁还斜照，羡杀乌龙卧锦茵。”皆属此意。

但忠诚事主的“乌龙”到头来居然变成足球赛事中最为人所不耻的自进球的代称，实在是一代名犬的悲哀。
