创作背景：

小朵和北京奥运会的缘分始自当年的音乐总监，也是歌曲《我和你》的作曲者陈其钢老师，4、5年前小朵曾演唱过陈其钢老师的另外一首室内交响乐清唱剧《蝶恋花》，彼时陈老师已深深感受到了小朵精湛的古典美声唱功，这也为后来《我和你》的合作提供了契机。

2007年的夏天，经身边人的推荐，陈其钢和陈小朵、常石磊正式合作，进行音乐试验，录制歌曲《我和你》。改词、改曲、定调、定音区，前前后后录了有十几次，修改了多个不同的版本，从一个夏天一直录到下一个夏天。

那时他们还不知道这首歌会成为北京奥运会的主题曲，以为只是作为中间的一段音乐，全无报酬，皆是义务，不过想着是为奥运做贡献，他们还是觉得十分光荣。

7月20日，北京奥组委举行了颁发聘书仪式，已在北京奥运会开闭幕式运营中心工作半年的25名各创意组总设计、30名各工作室主任以及其他144名专业艺术、技术工作人员正式受聘，“音乐总设计”的头衔则被授予了祖籍台州的旅法华人作曲家陈其钢。
